Your Weekly Digital Learning Compendium

OUR FOCUS THIS WEEK

Can we ever learn and grow together too much? Of course not! This week we highlight some cool implementations of tech in both the PYP and the MYP. We also revisit the Future Plan while piggybacking last week’s PL session on Assessment for Learning.

STEP INTO OUR CLASSROOM

Grade 2 students have been exploring the concept of ‘perspective’ through photography. They took bird’s eye view and worm’s eye view photographs in Central Park.

View some of the amazing photos they took here.

Grade 7 MYP Math demonstrates their learning of  “Real Numbers” using Canva & iMovie by creating some amazing infographics, posters and videos. (Please note: Canva is only available for ages 13 and over)

What type of numbers do we commonly use? Infographics & Posters

What are Real Numbers? – Videos

*The same grade 7 lesson implements last week’s “@” feature in Docs to use a progress tracker – cool!

Assessment for Understanding
Piggy-backing off last week’s school-wide Professional Learning, we present you with a tutorial itemising strategies to assess students for understanding

We now borrow from Deb, Olivia, Aliza, Courtney & Mel…
What: Developing shared strategies and language to support school-wide assessment for understanding

How: Revisiting ways to assess for understanding
and to gather data to inform next steps

Why: Educators build the capacity, efficacy and craftsmanship to facilitate and assess concept-based teaching and learning (Future Plan)
