OUR FOCUS THIS WEEK

Welcome back, Vampires! It is great to see the energy on campus these last couple of weeks.

For a soft opening, we thought this was a good time to (re)introduce you to our guiding statements, highlighting what is arguably the most important one of all. Read on to learn about new resources and how we can help.

WE ARE ALL TEACHERS AND LEARNERS OF TECHNOLOGY.

ISTE Standards for Educators (2.3) states: “Educators inspire students to positively contribute to and responsibly participate in the digital world.”

We can no longer deny the impact technology has in someone’s life, regardless of their age. When it comes to our classrooms, how might we incorporate important topics such as digital representation, online reputation, protecting one’s data, or being principled when using technology?

Our Digital Citizenship Padlet has a wealth of information and resources, including ideas for the Early Years.

What’s happening around school?


In Elementary, Digital Citizenship is now embedded into the SEL curriculum. Sarah is helping Deb to populate the new planners with resources and suggested learning activities as the units progress. 

In Secondary, Troy has been working with Grades 6 and 7 Learning Leaders to embed digital citizenship lessons into the Advisory program.
