Rediscovering Google Docs

It is safe to say we all use Google Docs at AISB.

But maybe we are not all taking full advantage of this versatile tool YET.

✨ You don’t have to write a novel with it, but those unit planners could probably use a few shortcuts!

For example:

Styles & Formatting: Using Styles not only ensures our documents look neat but also introduces an organized structure. It’s especially handy for longer documents. Remember the joy of seeing an automatic table of contents? That’s Google Docs Styles working its magic!

Indents and Tabs: Did you know that you can set custom tab stops via the ruler, or using the indent options, you can control exactly where your text aligns? This is especially useful for creating organized lists, structuring bibliographies, or crafting detailed outlines.

Voice Typing: Tired of typing? Navigate to Tools > Voice typing. Speak naturally, and watch your words transcribe in real-time. It’s especially useful for brainstorming sessions or quick note-taking.

➑️ And here’s another time-saving tip: Ever need a transcription of an audio track you’ve recorded? Try hitting the voice record while you play the video in the background.

Keyboard Shortcuts: Keyboard shortcuts can dramatically speed up your work. Learn here where you can find new shortcuts in Google Docs.Β
